Courses can be made up of either tutorial videos or text and images but we suggest using a combination of both to give students the most flexible learning experience. The courses are normally divided into “chapters” to make them easier to navigate by the students. Discover Spatial offers a variety of free and paid plans to suit you or your organisations’ needs. Each plan uses a marketplace revenue split model so when a student signs up for your course there will be a revenue split of X/Y, where X is you and Y is Discover Spatial. Please also note that profit shares factor in the costs for the transaction fees which are 5% + (2.9% +30c processing fees).

Depending on what equipment you have (see below) you may also find there are some costs involved in initially setting yourself up to create high quality course content.

It’s important to ensure your courses have high-quality video and audio. There are many great software and hardware options out there so have a look for what suits your needs and budget.

As a general rule, our instructors use a metric of about $10–$30 per hour of course content. However, as the instructor, you’re best placed to research the market extensively and see what students may be willing to pay before publishing a course. It also helps to experiment with different marketing strategies along the way to find the most attractive price point for potential students.

We invite people with substantial spatial expertise and the ability to share it concisely and effectively with students to create and upload courses. What we ask is that 1) your courses are educational and not focused on promoting a certain product, and 2) the videos and audio are of a high quality. We reserve the right to remove courses that don’t meet our expectations.

Discover Spatial’s course library and student numbers are increasing significantly every day. With the growing interest in spatial technology and with more valuable courses being added all the time, our website traffic has been experiencing rapid growth.

We provide ongoing marketing of the Discover Spatial brand to further the site’s growth and global recognition. This includes the use of both free and paid advertising channels to promote the site and sometimes the individual courses themselves. Discover Spatial is fast becoming the number one spatial eLearning platform in the world giving our instructors a growing, targeted market for their courses. We also provide basic course creation and course marketing information to guide Instructors on how to increase sales/exposure.

First of all, it’s crucial to perform some initial research and gauge the likely market interest in your potential course/s. You need to figure out your unique, profitable, course idea before publishing anything.

Instructors are also best placed to drive their own marketing efforts as they are the one’s who best know the product, the technologies and content they are teaching. If you’re finding your sales results unsatisfactory and you have certain targets you want to meet then it’s imperative for you to market your courses and be very proactive with that. Instructors will only get out of it what they put into it and the key to a successful course is usually a healthy dose of action!

All content produced, submitted or published via Discover Spatial belongs to you, the content developer – forever. Discover Spatial is primarily a ‘training store/marketplace’ – just like the App Store sells apps on behalf of app developers, who retain full intellectual property rights for their creations.

Once you sign up to one of the plans you will be agreeing to our Terms of Use while also initiating a contract between Discover Spatial and you, the Content Developer.

Customers who are on either the Education or Enterprise plans will gain instant access to funds/revenue.

Customers who are on the free Independent instructor plans are instead paid for signups 30 days after the end of the month in which a sale was made. These payments may take up to 8-9 weeks to be automatically paid out through the system.
